Quick answer
How much are lash extensions in Ontario? A typical full set costs $120 to $225 and a refill $60 to $130 (CAD), based on public price lists from 20 lash studios, checked in November 2026. By style, typical full sets were $120 to $140 for classic, $150 to $165 for hybrid, $150 to $185 for volume and $195 to $225 for mega volume.
As one example, our lash extension prices start at $120 for a hybrid full set and $65 for a hybrid refill, before HST.
How much are lash extensions in Ontario? Prices at a glance
Most of the Ontario studios we checked charge $120 to $225 for a full set and $60 to $130 for a refill, depending on the style. The table shows the full spread, from the lowest listed price to the highest.
| Service | Lowest listed | Typical (middle half) | Median | Highest listed | Studios with a price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Classic full set | $90 | $120 to $140 | $135 | $150 | 17 |
| Hybrid full set | $90 | $150 to $165 | $155 | $180 | 15 |
| Volume full set | $105 | $150 to $185 | $175 | $200 | 18 |
| Mega volume full set | $180 | $195 to $225 | $200 | $250 | 9 |
| Classic refill | $55 | $60 to $75 | $70 | $80 | 17 |
| Hybrid refill | $60 | $70 to $90 | $80 | $100 | 14 |
| Volume refill | $70 | $80 to $95 | $85 | $115 | 17 |
| Mega volume refill | $90 | $100 to $130 | $112.50 | $155 | 8 |
| Lash extension removal | $15 | $25 to $40 | $30 | $50 | 15 |
Refill means the 2-week price where a studio prices refills by week, otherwise its standard refill price.
Three things stood out in the data:
- The spread is wide. Hybrid full sets ran from $90 to $180, double the price for the same style.
- LED sets topped the list. The highest hybrid, volume and mega volume prices were for LED lash extensions at one studio.
- A refill is about half a full set. A refill cost a median of 50% of the same studio's full set price, and the middle half fell between about 48% and 59%.

How we researched these prices
We checked the public price lists of 20 lash studios across the GTA and Ontario in November 2026. Twelve are in the Greater Toronto Area: Toronto, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Mississauga, Oakville and Oshawa, including one mobile service. Eight are elsewhere in Ontario, in Ottawa, Hamilton, London, Barrie and the Kitchener-Waterloo area.
- We used only the lash extensions price list published on each studio's own website, not booking apps, deal sites or directories.
- We recorded 245 prices exactly as listed, including "from" and "and up" prices.
- A price counted as classic, hybrid, volume or mega volume only when the studio used that name. Specialty sets such as wet, wispy or "natural" sets were left out of the ranges.
- We left out one studio whose price list didn't make clear which price went with which service.
- "Typical" is the middle half of studio prices (the 25th to 75th percentile), rounded outward to the nearest $5. The median is the middle price.
- Our own prices are not part of the ranges. We don't name the studios, and prices can change, so treat this as a snapshot and confirm before you book.
Our prices at Luxury Lash Lounge, for comparison
At our private, appointment-only studio in Woodbridge, Vaughan, full sets cost $120 to $150 and refills $65 to $80, before HST. Every service is listed on our lash extension services page.
| Service | Full set | Refill | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hybrid lash extensions | $120 | $65 | A fuller look than your natural lashes, without the bold, dark look of volume |
| Volume lash extensions | $135 | $70 | A denser, fluffier lash line |
| Mega volume lash extensions | $150 | $80 | A very dramatic, voluminous set |
| Lash extension removal | $20 | – | Safe removal, including another technician's work |
| Patch test | $20 | – | Anyone who has had a reaction or sensitivity to lash extensions before |
We don't offer classic sets, so hybrid is the lightest of our three set types. Comparing listed prices style for style, each of our full set, refill and removal prices is below the typical range (the middle half of listed prices) in our November 2026 check of 20 Ontario studios. Most of those price lists don't say whether HST is included, while ours are before HST, so compare final totals.
With 13% HST added, our volume full set ($152.55) and hybrid refill ($73.45) would fall inside those typical ranges, while our other prices would still be below them.

What affects the price of lash extensions?
What eyelash extensions cost at any one studio depends on the style: each step from classic to mega volume usually costs more. Between studios, prices can also reflect training and experience, products and hygiene, the type of business and specialty add-ons. Location mattered less than you might expect.
Style: more extensions per lash costs more
Classic sets put one extension on each natural lash, while hybrid, volume and mega volume sets add fans of finer extensions. Compare the looks in our guide to types of lash extensions and lash styles.
More extensions per lash usually takes more time and skill, and prices follow. Here's how much each step added to a full set within the same studio:
| Step up | Studios listing both | Typical increase (median) | Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic to hybrid | 12 | $20 | $20 to $30 |
| Hybrid to volume | 14 | $20 | $0 to $30 |
| Volume to mega volume | 9 | $30 | $5 to $60 |

Training and experience
A lash tech isolates one natural lash at a time and attaches each extension or fan to it, as explained in what lash extensions are and how they're applied. Precision and experience are part of what you pay for. The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) suggests asking about a technician's training, certification and experience with lash extensions before you book.
Alessia, our owner and a certified lash trainer, has been lashing since 2018 and holds five lash certifications. She also teaches our 1-on-1 lash training courses. To learn how lash techs train, read how to become a lash tech in Ontario.
Location: does the GTA cost more?
Not much, in our sample. Median full set prices in the GTA and elsewhere in Ontario were within $10 of each other for every style.
| Full set | GTA median | Elsewhere in Ontario median |
|---|---|---|
| Classic | $135 | $125 |
| Hybrid | $155 | $155 |
| Volume | $170 | $177.50 |
The bigger gaps were between studios in the same city: in one GTA city, hybrid full sets ranged from $90 to $180. With only 8 studios outside the GTA, treat the regional comparison as a rough guide.
Products, hygiene and safety
Part of what you pay usually covers things you may not notice: professional adhesive, single-use supplies, and tools that are cleaned and disinfected between clients.
- Health Canada's Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist says cyanoacrylate adhesives for eyelash extensions must be sold for professional use only, labelled "For application by trained professionals only."
- York Region Public Health says proper cleaning and disinfecting of tools and surfaces between clients is essential. Tools that can't be properly cleaned and disinfected must be used only once and then thrown away.
At the end of an appointment in our studio, we use a small lash fan to clear glue fumes before you open your eyes. Everything we sell in our shop of own-brand lash extension supplies is used on our own clients.
Studio, home-based or mobile
Our research included salons, home-based studios and a mobile service. The home-based and mobile options weren't automatically cheaper: most of their prices sat inside the typical ranges, and the mobile service noted possible travel fees on top. Wherever you book, the hygiene checks later in this guide still apply.

Specialty sets and add-ons
A few extras changed the price in our research:
- Wet or wispy sets: $110 to $185 at the four studios that priced them. At our studio, wet sets fall into the volume category ($135 for a full set, $70 for a refill), and wispy can be done with any set type at that set type's price.
- UV sets: at the one studio that listed both UV and regular full sets, the UV versions cost $20 to $25 more.
- Refill timing: some studios charge less for earlier refills and more for later ones (see the next section).
- Another studio's work: one studio charged $90 to refill another studio's set and one charged more to remove it. Another doesn't refill outside work at all, and neither do we.
How much does a lash fill cost?
The typical lash fill cost in our research was $60 to $75 for classic, $70 to $90 for hybrid, $80 to $95 for volume and $100 to $130 for mega volume. That's about half the price of a full set.
Six of the 20 studios price refills by the number of weeks since your last visit. At those studios, a 3-week refill cost $10 to $35 more than a 2-week refill in the same style, and the three that listed 1-week touch-ups charged $45 to $75 for them. Four studios also offered short "mini" or "half" fills for $40 to $100.
How often you need a refill
Extensions fall off as your natural lashes shed, and the AAO says they typically last three to four weeks. Studios that published a refill window mostly suggested every 2 to 3 weeks, and a few allowed up to 4. The lash cycle behind this is explained in how long lash extensions last.
How the 40% refill rule works at our studio
At our studio, at least 40% of your lash extensions must remain for the visit to count as a refill. With less than that, the appointment is charged as a full set. We also don't refill another lash technician's work.
Other studios use similar rules. Published minimums ranged from 40% to 50% of lashes remaining, and some studios charge a full set once 3 or 4 weeks have passed. Our current refill prices are $65 for hybrid, $70 for volume and $80 for mega volume.

Why a missed refill can cost a full set
If you wait until less than 40% of your extensions remain, you pay for a full set instead of a refill. At our prices, that difference is $55 to $70 per visit.
| Style | Refill | Full set | Extra cost if it becomes a full set |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hybrid | $65 | $120 | $55 |
| Volume | $70 | $135 | $65 |
| Mega volume | $80 | $150 | $70 |
Booking your next refill before you leave makes it easier to stay on schedule. If plans change, we need at least 24 hours' notice to cancel; our booking policies have the details.
Lash extension removal cost and patch test cost
Removal typically costs $25 to $40 on the price lists we checked (median $30), and ours is $20 before HST. Few studios list a patch test price; ours is $20. Both are listed with our removal and patch test details.
Removal
Book a removal when you're switching studios, taking a break or starting fresh. Professional removal is the safest way to take off eyelash extensions without damaging your natural lashes. Don't pull them off yourself: the AAO warns that rubbing, tugging or pulling can fracture your natural lashes.
Thinking of taking them off at home? Our guide on how to remove lash extensions at home explains the gentlest method and when not to try it, but a professional removal ($20 at our studio) is still the safest option.
We welcome outside removals. If you book a full set with us while wearing another technician's lashes, you need to book a removal with it. Some studios charge more for outside work; one charged $45 to remove another tech's set and $25 for its own clients.
If you notice pain, itching, redness or swelling after any lash appointment, don't remove the extensions yourself, and see an eye doctor promptly. The AAO says not to try to remove extensions yourself after an allergic reaction, because this could damage your eyes, and to see an ophthalmologist immediately.
Switching studios? Your first visit costs a removal plus a full set. At our prices, before HST:
| Style | Removal + full set | Total with 13% HST |
|---|---|---|
| Hybrid | $20 + $120 = $140 | $158.20 |
| Volume | $20 + $135 = $155 | $175.15 |
| Mega volume | $20 + $150 = $170 | $192.10 |
Patch test cost
Only one studio in our research listed a lash patch test price (it was free), while two others mentioned patch tests without a price. Ours costs $20, takes about 15 minutes and is recommended if you've had a reaction or sensitivity to lash extensions before. To learn what a patch test checks for, read our lash glue allergy guide.
How much do lash extensions cost per year?
At our prices, a year of lash extensions costs about $1,225 to $2,150 before HST, depending on your style and how often you refill. When people ask "how much are lash extensions?", the price of one visit is only part of the answer. The example below assumes one full set, then a refill every 3 weeks (17 refills in 52 weeks) or every 2 weeks (25 refills).
| Style | Refill every 3 weeks | Refill every 2 weeks |
|---|---|---|
| Hybrid | $120 + (17 × $65) = $1,225 | $120 + (25 × $65) = $1,745 |
| Volume | $135 + (17 × $70) = $1,325 | $135 + (25 × $70) = $1,885 |
| Mega volume | $150 + (17 × $80) = $1,510 | $150 + (25 × $80) = $2,150 |
With 13% HST, these totals range from $1,384.25 to $2,429.50. A hybrid set refilled every 3 weeks works out to about $102 a month before tax. On the same schedule, volume is about $110 a month and mega volume about $126.
This is an example, not a quote. Your real schedule depends on your natural lash cycle, your aftercare and keeping at least 40% of your extensions between visits.
Using the median listed prices in our research instead ($155 for a hybrid full set and $80 for a 2-week or standard hybrid refill), the same 3-week schedule would cost $1,515. At studios that charge more for a 3-week refill, it would cost more.

Is HST included in lash extension prices?
Not at our studio: our prices are before HST, and Ontario's HST rate is 13%. Most studio menus we checked didn't say either way, and the two that did both add HST on top.
Most property and services supplied in Canada are subject to GST/HST, according to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). The CRA's GST/HST rate table lists Ontario at 13%. Here's what that means for our prices:
| Service | Before HST | HST (13%) | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hybrid full set | $120 | $15.60 | $135.60 |
| Volume full set | $135 | $17.55 | $152.55 |
| Mega volume full set | $150 | $19.50 | $169.50 |
| Hybrid refill | $65 | $8.45 | $73.45 |
| Volume refill | $70 | $9.10 | $79.10 |
| Mega volume refill | $80 | $10.40 | $90.40 |
| Removal or patch test | $20 | $2.60 | $22.60 |
Some very small businesses don't charge HST at all. The CRA says a business whose taxable sales don't exceed $30,000 over four consecutive calendar quarters is a small supplier and doesn't have to register. That can make one quote look lower than another, so compare totals.
For example, a $135 quote with no HST and a $120 quote plus 13% HST ($135.60) cost almost the same. Always ask what the final total will be.
In general, tipping is common for beauty services, but it's optional and the amount is up to you.
Buying our Luxury Lash Lounge gift card for a full set? Service prices are before HST, so pick a higher amount if you want the card to cover the tax.
Cards come in 25 amounts from $10 to $5,000, arrive by email and never expire. These are the smallest card amounts that cover each visit with HST:
| Visit | Total with HST | Smallest card that covers it |
|---|---|---|
| Hybrid full set | $135.60 | $150 |
| Volume full set | $152.55 | $175 |
| Mega volume full set | $169.50 | $175 |
| Hybrid refill | $73.45 | $75 |
| Volume or mega volume refill | $79.10 or $90.40 | $100 |

Are lash extensions worth it?
They can be, if you want a finished lash look every day and you're comfortable with the ongoing cost and care. They're harder to justify if regular refills don't fit your budget or schedule.
Time is part of the cost too. At our studio, a full set or refill takes around 1 hour, and 1.5 hours at most, so one full set plus refills every 3 weeks means 18 appointments a year. Our guide to how long lash extensions last also covers how long appointments take.
| Lash extensions may suit you if you... | Think twice if you... |
|---|---|
| Want a lash look that doesn't depend on daily mascara | Can't budget about $1,225 or more a year for upkeep (at our prices) |
| Are happy to book a refill every few weeks | Tend to rub, tug or pick at your lashes |
| Like choosing a look, from soft hybrid to dramatic mega volume | Have reacted to lash glue before (book a patch test first) |
| Want one less step in your makeup routine | Have an eye condition or eye symptoms (ask your eye doctor first) |
The AAO lists real risks: trauma to or infection of the eyelid or cornea, allergic reactions to the glue, and temporary or permanent loss of lashes. It notes that infection can come from poor hygiene in the shop or damage to the eye during application, so the studio you choose matters as much as the price. For the downsides in detail, read do lash extensions ruin your lashes.

Cheap lash extensions: what to watch for
A low price isn't proof of poor work, and a high price isn't proof of good work. What you can check is how the studio handles hygiene and how your lash tech was trained.
In our reading, lash studios count as personal service settings under Ontario's public health rules, and health unit guidance points the same way: Lakelands Public Health, for example, lists eyelash extensions among the services these settings offer. It says it inspects these settings once a year and on complaint, and that operators must give it written notice at least 14 days before opening.
The regulation for these settings is Ontario Regulation 136/18. The Ministry of Health's July 2018 summary said it covered hand washing sinks, equipment, collecting clients' contact information and posting inspection results. That summary dates from 2018, so check with your local public health unit for the current rules.
What these rules mean for lash techs is covered in how to become a lash tech in Ontario.
How to check a studio's inspection results
- York Region (including Vaughan, Markham and Richmond Hill): York Region Public Health says it inspects personal service settings at least once every 12 months. Look for the green YorkSafe Proof of Public Health Inspection sign (York Region spa and salon safety), or search YorkSafe inspection reports online.
- Toronto: Toronto Public Health posts personal service setting results on BodySafe, and settings must post their inspection notice at or near the entrance.
- Peel (Mississauga and Brampton): Peel Public Health posts inspection results online and provides a disclosure sign that must be posted at the main entrance.
- Elsewhere in Ontario: check your local public health unit's website.
Signs of a well-run lash studio
- There's a hand washing sink, and your lash tech cleans their hands before your service starts.
- Tweezers and other tools are cleaned and disinfected between clients, and single-use items are used once and thrown away.
- Professional lash glue stays with the lash tech. Health Canada restricts it to professional use, so it shouldn't be sold to you for home use.
- You get a consultation about the look you want and the health of your natural lashes.
- A patch test is offered if you've reacted to lash extensions before.
- Prices and policies are clear: full set, refill rule, removal, tax and cancellation.
Red flags include tools taken out without being cleaned, pressure to skip a patch test after a past reaction, and no clear answer about training.
How to save money on lash extensions without cutting corners
The easiest savings come from avoiding unplanned full sets and choosing a style you can afford to maintain.
- Keep refills on time. Book your next visit before you leave, or contact us to book a refill, so your set still qualifies as a refill.
- Don't assume earlier refills are cheaper. At all six studios that priced refills by week, 17 refills a year at the 3-week price cost $210 to $645 less than 25 refills at the 2-week price. That only works if enough extensions remain for each visit to count as a refill.
- Follow your aftercare. Alessia recommends washing your lashes ideally every day with an oil-free cleanser. Our Lash Cleanser Kit ($19.99) pairs a 60 ml oil-free foam with a cleansing brush, and it doesn't break down the adhesive bond.
- Brush, don't rub. Brush your lashes into place with clean lash spoolies once they're dry, and read our full lash extension aftercare guide.
- Choose a style that fits your budget. At our prices, a hybrid set refilled every 3 weeks costs $285 a year less than mega volume on the same schedule ($1,225 versus $1,510).
- Never pull or pick at extensions. The AAO warns this can fracture natural lashes. Professional removal at our studio is $20.
- Skip DIY with professional glue. Cyanoacrylate lash adhesive must be sold for professional use only in Canada.
- Compare total prices. Before you book, ask whether HST is included, what the refill rule is and what removal costs.
Lash extension cost FAQ
How much are average lash extensions?
In our November 2026 check of 20 Ontario studios, the median full set was $135 for classic, $155 for hybrid, $175 for volume and $200 for mega volume, as listed. Median refills ran from $70 for classic to $112.50 for mega volume. Full sets ranged from $90 to $250 across individual price lists.
How much does a lash fill cost in Ontario?
Typical fills cost $60 to $75 for classic, $70 to $90 for hybrid, $80 to $95 for volume and $100 to $130 for mega volume. That's roughly half the price of a full set. At our studio, refills are $65, $70 and $80 before HST, as long as at least 40% of your extensions remain.
How long does a set last before I need a refill?
The AAO says extensions typically last three to four weeks, falling off as your natural lashes shed. Most studios that published a refill window suggested a refill every 2 to 3 weeks. For a fuller explanation of the lash cycle and refill timing, read our guide to how long lash extensions last.
Do fake lashes destroy real lashes?
Extensions are meant to fall off with your natural lashes as they shed, but damage is possible. The AAO lists temporary or permanent lash loss among the risks and warns that rubbing, tugging or pulling can fracture natural lashes.
The AAO's EyeWiki also describes traction alopecia, where natural lashes are lost from the pull of synthetic lashes. For the full picture, read do lash extensions ruin your lashes.
Are eyelash extensions worth it?
They can be, if you want a finished lash look and don't mind regular refills. Budget for upkeep: at our prices, a year costs about $1,225 to $2,150 before HST. If you've reacted to lash glue before, book a patch test first, and skip extensions if regular appointments don't suit your life.
How much does lash extension removal cost?
Removal typically costs $25 to $40 at the Ontario studios we checked, with a median of $30. One studio we checked charged more to remove another studio's work.
At our studio, removal is $20 before HST, and outside removals are welcome. Never pull or pick extensions off yourself, because that can fracture your natural lashes. If you're considering a DIY removal, read how to remove lash extensions at home first.
Is HST included in lash extension prices in Ontario?
Not at our studio. Ontario's HST rate is 13%, and our prices are before HST, so a $120 hybrid full set comes to $135.60.
Only 2 of the 20 price lists we checked mentioned tax, and both add HST on top. Very small businesses that don't exceed the CRA's $30,000 small supplier threshold may not charge it, so ask for the total.
Why does a volume set cost more than a hybrid set?
Volume sets attach a fan of several fine extensions to each natural lash, while hybrid sets mix fans with single classic lashes. More extensions usually take more time and skill.
In our research, a volume full set cost a median of $20 more than the same studio's hybrid set. Ours are $120 for hybrid and $135 for volume.
Can I get a refill at a different studio?
It depends on the studio. Some refill outside work, sometimes for a higher price, while others, including ours, don't refill another technician's work.
At our studio, you would book a removal ($20) with a new full set. Ask before you book so there are no surprises on the day.
How much should I budget for lash extensions per year?
At our prices, plan on $1,225 to $2,150 a year before HST, based on one full set plus refills every 2 or 3 weeks. Using the median listed prices from our check of 20 Ontario studios, a hybrid set refilled every 3 weeks would cost $1,515, or more where 3-week refills cost extra. Missed refills that turn into full sets push the total higher.
Should I tip my lash tech?
In general, tipping is common for beauty services, but it's optional and there's no set amount. If you're happy with your set, a tip is one way to say thank you. What you do pay is the service price plus any HST, so ask for the total when you book.
