What are mega volume lash extensions?
Mega volume lash extensions are large fans of ultra-fine extensions, and each fan is attached to a single natural lash. Together, the fans create a very dramatic, voluminous lash line that looks dense, dark and full.
Mega volume fans commonly hold 7 or more extensions each, which lash techs write as 7D and up. Fan sizes vary by lash tech, and so does the line between volume and mega volume. In our studio, we use 0.03 mm lashes to make big mega volume fans.
Is mega volume right for you?
Mega volume is right for you if you want a very dramatic, voluminous set and your natural lashes are healthy enough to carry it. If you'd like a softer result, one of our other sets may suit you better.
Mega volume suits you if:
- You want a very dramatic, voluminous lash line.
- You love a dense, dark, full look, or you already wear a volume set and want more fullness.
- Your natural lashes are healthy and strong.
- You're happy to wash your lashes daily and keep up with refills.
You might prefer another option if:
- You want a fuller look than your natural lashes, without the bold, dark look of volume. Our hybrid lash extensions suit that goal.
- You want a denser, fluffier lash line without the full drama of mega volume. Our volume lash extensions may suit you.
- Your natural lashes are fine or short, or still recovering from a heavy set. Ask which set and lengths your lashes can carry.
- You have an eye condition or a history of allergy. EyeWiki, the American Academy of Ophthalmology's eye encyclopedia, says clients with existing eye disease or allergy history should avoid eyelash extensions. Talk to your eye doctor before booking.
Mega volume needs healthy natural lashes
Mega volume needs healthy natural lashes that can carry it. Each fan sits on one natural lash, so its size, fibre thickness and length all have to suit that lash. Lash techs commonly suggest a different set for lashes that are fine, short or still recovering from a heavy set.
Here's why that matters. EyeWiki describes traction alopecia, natural lashes lost due to the traction of synthetic lashes, and says it may further damage lash follicles. Our guide to whether lash extensions ruin your lashes explains what causes lash damage and how to protect your natural lashes.
Mega volume lash extension prices
Mega volume lash extensions at our Woodbridge studio cost $150 for a full set and $80 for a refill. Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD), before HST.
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| Mega volume full set | $150 |
| Mega volume refill | $80 |
| Lash extension removal | $20 |
| Patch test | $20 |
- Refills: at least 40% of your extensions must remain for the visit to count as a refill; otherwise, it's charged as a full set.
- Another technician's lashes: we don't refill another lash technician's work. If you book a full set while wearing another technician's lashes, you must book a removal with it.
- Our other sets: see hybrid and volume prices on our lash extensions in Woodbridge page.
What to expect at your mega volume appointment
A mega volume appointment at our studio takes around 1 hour, and 1.5 hours at most, for a full set or a refill. You rest with your eyes closed while your lash tech builds the set one fan at a time.
- Before your visit. When you book, we send our eyelash extension consent form, which every client completes before their appointment. We also message you before every appointment to confirm the date and time.
- Plan the look. Tell your lash tech the style you'd like, such as cat eye or wispy. Lash techs commonly plan the lengths with a lash map before they start.
- Settle in. You lie back with your eyes closed, and the hydrogel eye pad we use in all our lash treatments covers your lower lashes.
- Build the fans. Commonly, your lash tech separates one natural lash at a time and attaches one fan to it, so that neighbouring lashes aren't glued together.
- Clear the fumes. At the end of your appointment, we use our Pink USB Lash Fan to clear glue fumes before you open your eyes.
If you've had a reaction or sensitivity to lash extensions before, book a $20 patch test ahead of your full set. It takes about 15 minutes, and the FAQ below explains how it works.
If your eyes itch, hurt, swell or look red after a set, or your vision changes, don't try to remove the extensions yourself. See an eye doctor promptly. For an allergic reaction, the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) advises seeing an ophthalmologist immediately.

Styles you can choose
Alessia Simonetta, our owner and master lash artist, does natural, open eye (doll eye), cat eye, fox eye, wispy, wet look and strip lash styles at our Woodbridge studio. The style shapes your set, while mega volume decides how dense it is.
| Style | What it commonly looks like |
|---|---|
| Natural | Follows your own lash line and gets softly longer toward the outer third |
| Open eye (doll eye) | Puts the longest lashes in the centre of the eye, above the pupil, for a rounder, more open look |
| Cat eye | Gets gradually longer toward the outer corner, where the longest lashes sit, for a lifted, elongated look |
| Fox eye | Steps up from the centre and keeps the longest lengths across the outer part of the eye, commonly with a lifting curl, for a lifted outer corner |
| Wispy | Adds longer spikes every few millimetres over a softer base, for a textured, fluttery look |
| Wet look | Commonly made with closed, spiky fans for a dark, defined finish, like lashes fresh out of the water. At our studio, wet sets fall into the volume category |
| Strip lash | A look modelled on a strip of false lashes |
Shapes such as natural, open eye, cat eye and fox eye commonly work with any type of set, including mega volume. A lash tech adjusts the lengths to your natural lashes and eye shape. When you book, ask which styles suit a mega volume set on your lashes.
Read more in our guides to doll eye lash extensions, cat eye lash extensions, fox eye lashes, wispy lash extensions and wet set lashes. Our lash map guide shows how lash techs plan the lengths.
Mega volume aftercare and refills
Alessia recommends washing your lashes ideally every day with an oil-free cleanser. Our Lash Cleanser Kit pairs a 60 ml oil-free foam with a brush and removes dirt and makeup without breaking down the adhesive bond. Once your lashes are dry, brush them into place with a clean spoolie.
To keep your set full, book a refill while at least 40% of your extensions remain. For the full routine and refill timing, see our lash extension aftercare guide and our guide to how long lash extensions last.

FAQ
How much are mega volume lashes in Woodbridge?
At Luxury Lash Lounge in Woodbridge, Vaughan, a mega volume full set is $150 and a mega volume refill is $80. At least 40% of your extensions must remain for the visit to count as a refill; otherwise, it's charged as a full set. Lash extension removal and patch tests are $20 each.
How long do mega volume lashes last?
Like any lash extensions, mega volume lashes fall off as your natural lashes shed, according to the American Academy of Ophthalmology. To keep your set full, book a refill while at least 40% of your extensions remain. Our guide to how long lash extensions last explains the lash cycle and when to book your refill.
How is mega volume different from volume?
Both use fans of fine extensions, but mega volume fans commonly hold more extensions, made from finer fibres, for a fuller, more dramatic look. Volume fans commonly hold 2 to 6 extensions and mega volume fans 7 or more, though the cut-off varies by lash tech. Our guide to types of lash extensions compares all four types.
Are mega volume lashes damaging?
They can be, which is why mega volume needs healthy natural lashes that can carry it. The American Academy of Ophthalmology lists temporary or permanent lash loss among the risks of extensions.
It also warns that rubbing, tugging or pulling can fracture natural lashes and even permanently damage the follicle. Our guide to whether lash extensions ruin your lashes explains how to protect yours.
Do I need a patch test before mega volume lashes?
We recommend one if you've had a reaction or sensitivity to lash extensions before. It costs $20 and takes about 15 minutes: we place 5 to 10 short, natural lash extensions on each eye with our glue, plus the hydrogel eye pad we use in all our lash treatments.
If you notice itching, stinging, burning or swelling within 24 hours, let us know, because it may mean you have a sensitivity or allergy. See our lash glue allergy guide.
How do I book mega volume lashes in Vaughan?
Text or call 647-533-7202, send a DM to @luxurylashlounge on Instagram, email luxurylashloungevaughan@gmail.com, or send a request with the form below. Our private, appointment-only studio is at 118 Pioneer Ln, Woodbridge, ON L4L 2J1, in the City of Vaughan. We need at least 24 hours' notice to cancel an appointment.
Can I wear mascara with a mega volume set?
You're free to, because lash extensions are semi-permanent, but Alessia highly recommends against it. In her experience, mascara and eyeliner contain oils that break down the adhesive bond and will most likely make your extensions shed prematurely. She also recommends washing your lashes ideally every day with an oil-free cleanser.
Can you remove lash extensions from another studio?
Yes. Outside removals are welcome, and a lash extension removal is $20. Professional removal is the safest way to take off eyelash extensions without damaging your natural lashes, so please don't pull them off yourself.
We don't refill another lash technician's work. If you book a full set while wearing another technician's lashes, you must book a removal with it.
